When you are young, waking up early in the morning is the last thing you want to do. But as you grow older and habits change, you end up waking up earlier because you chose to, not because you have to.
The silence that is in the air, the calmness you can feel in the sky, and stillness when looking at the ocean…there is no denying that it is a special time of the day.
About one and a half hours before dawn to be specific, is a period that is the ideal time for mediating and collecting your thoughts. This period is called Brahmamuhurta.
The serene qualities that is in nature during time can bring peace of mind and freshness to your perception. Waking up during this time, allows you to synchronize with the rhythm of the sun. Your breathes feel deeper, your mind is clearer, you feel like you have the energy to combat anything and reach any goal you put your mind to.
The time that is ideal to wake up and out of bed to get the maximum benefits of this special time is between 3:30 – 5:30.
For me, I am usually able to manage to be out of bed around 5am. As hard of a challenge as it is, I try not to go to my phone or my emails first thing, and instead try and go out even for a few minutes and take in the fresh air, sense the calmness around, and absorb all the positive energies that I can.
Unfortunately the reality is that the minute you turn on your phone, you get bombarded with emails and notifications, and before you have even had a chance to take advantage of the quite world, you are exposed to the rest of the world wanting and demanding your attention.
If you try a few days in a row, then you’ll know that all the alerts and emails will still be there even if you don’t get to them the minute you open your eyes. Take your time and value the most precious time of the day for yourself!
Do you like waking up early and starting your day when the world is still asleep? I look forward to it every morning!
